Hoe kunnen creatieve industrieën zich in Europa optimaal ontplooien? Welke beleidsmaatregelen kan Europa treffen? Hoe kan publiek-private samenwerking worden gestimuleerd? Met deze en andere vragen wil de Europese Commissie het publiek debat rond creatieve industrieën aanwakkeren. Ze organiseert hiertoe een publieke consultatie rond het zopas verschenen "Greenpaper: Unlocking the potential of cultural and creative industries." Nog tot 30 juli kan gereageerd worden op de studie en de vragenlijst." Unlocking the potential of cultural and creative industries" is het eerste groenboek van de Europese Commissie rond de creatieve industrie. Het benadrukt ondermeer de rol van cultuur als een middel om lokale en regionale ontwikkeling te bevorderen.
Met het groenboek wil de Europese Commissie in de eerste plaats het debat stimuleren rond hoe creatieve industrieën in hun bloei kunnen worden ondersteund en welke beleidscontext hiervoor het best geschikt is:
The Green Paper launches a major public consultation to better understand how the EU can foster the right environment for these industries to contribute to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
The background:
The cultural and creative industries are one of Europe's most dynamic economic sectors, employing more than 5 million people across the EU-27, contributing 2.6 % to EU GDP and growing faster than many other sectors in the economy. Cultural and creative industries support social and territorial cohesion, as well as driving creativity and innovation with beneficial spillover effects for the rest of the economy and society as a whole.
Digitization and globalization open new market opportunities for European cultural and creative industries, in particular for small businesses.
But these businesses often face obstacles to fulfilling their full potential. Cultural and creative industries need the right business environment which meets the specific needs of creative entrepreneurship.
